Tier II Datacenter
A Tier II datacenter is a datacenter with enough redundant components such that it is less susceptible to disruptions from both planned and unplanned than a Tier I datacenter. For example, a Tier III datacenter has a raised floor to avoid floors, a UPS and diesel generator for power outages, and also a network pathway that is N+1. That means a single-threaded distribution path for both power and network. Because the path is single-threaded, maintenance of the critical power path and some network components will disrupt its services. Most Vancouver colocation datacenter centers fall into the Tier I or Tier II category.
