It is not a good idea to install solid wood floors over a concrete slab. Concrete is a porous substance that allows moisture to seep through. Solid hardwood floors can be severely damaged by moisture. Installing hardwood floors on a slab may void the warranty. In some very dry climates, it is acceptable to install solid hardwood floors over a slab if care is taken to protect the floor. First, plastic should be put down on the slab and all seams taped thoroughly. After the plastic is in place, three quarter inch marine plywood should be used as a subfloor. Marine plywood is water resistance. Once the plywood is down, the solid hardwood floors can be nailed down directly to the plywood.

It is amazing the amount and kind of stuff turned into the lost and found. A lot of places get a real back log of stuff the no one comes to claim. After an appropriate time interval passes they need to get rid of the stuff. I worked in an office building that wanted to get rid of 3 storage rooms of stuff. A memo was sent around to see if anyone in the building want any of the stuff and I went to take a look. I actually found a couple valuable antique wall clocks that I got to keep for free. I have been offered sever hundred bucks for them I just can’t bring myself to sell them.
