Have you ever gotten out of bed in the morning, looked in the mirror, and saw that a huge pimple had developed on your nose over night? As I understand it, police records are public records. If this is the case, why do employers (or the employees) have to pay in order to conduct a criminal records check? And, it isn’t cheap to have this done. When I was applying for my teacher’s certification (another money making scam), I also had to have a criminal records check and I am pretty sure it cost around $15-$20 to have them search my police records. The state has them all in electronic format. How hard can it be to type in my name and say, “Nope. No record here.”
