A research by moneysupermarket.com has revealed that Wi-Fi consumers are very vulnerable to ‘piggybacking’ by remote users. In essence, Internet users with Wi-Fi are increasingly paying the bill for others who hijack their internet to do their own web surfing. This is very serious as the legal owners of the Wi-Fi connection are being exposed to fraud risks. The survey results show that 3.5m adults actually admitted to illegally using someone else’s wireless mobile internet connection. Some 46 percent of this number, admitted to stealing in to check emails and surf the web, but 12 percent do so everyday to download films and music. The survey results show that 17 percent of users do not even bother to put a password or encryption on their wireless broadband connection. This is very risky, as it is believed that hijackers on someone else’s internet connection could stumble on the bill payer’s login information, or even their personal bank account information. This leaves the bill payer opened to identity theft and other fraudulent activities. A good number of broadband operators impose a limit on data downloads, so if you are opened to piggybacking, these Wi-Fi thieves could in no time make you exceed your download limit, and cost you a bundle in added charges. There are ways to defend your Wi-Fi connection to avoid having to pay the bill for someone else’s downloads. Some good measures are installing software like WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access) encryption, firewall, parental control, and anti-virus. Always remember that leaving your internet connection unsecured is similar to leaving the front door of your house opened. It is proven that Wi-Fi thieves have no remorse or conscience, and will not stop at anything, if you leave the “door” opened for them.

A US based company, Tandon Enterprises, (TA) has selected their Sri Lankan factory in Pallekelle Kandy to manufacture High Definition Multimedia Interface Cables (HDMI) for the US Television market for the first time in the South Asian history. The cable is the key link to provide crystal clear pictures for the ‘high definition TV’s’ that have now been introduced to the US market.
These cables are also manufactured in China to serve the next generation televisions that are now being introduced in US according to HDMI Deals. “However the supply in China is not adequate and this is the reason the company decided to manufacture this cable in the Sri Lankan plant,” Vice President Sri Lanka Operations, Tandon Enterprises, Bernard Peiris said in an exclusive interview with the Daily News Business. He said Sri Lankan manufactured product returns are less that even 1 per cent and this was a major factor to award this project to Sri Lanka.

We’re going to have an early flight out from Madrid back home at the end of our vacation, so when I was looking through our options for hotels in Madrid I decided to book a hotel near the airport so it would be easier to get to the airport on time. And so we would be able to sleep a little later in the morning since we are not typically early risers. I chose the Express By Holiday Inn Madrid Airport since we are familiar with the Holiday Inn brand. It offers breakfast and a bar, and is close enough to the city for our purposes.
