Selling Your Own Home – Three Tips
Although it can be risky selling your own home, and the statistics say you’ll probably get less for it, if you do decide save that commission, here are some tips to help you.
1. Price it right. This is always important, but especially so when prices may be falling. A fast sale prevents “chasing the market down,” meaning lowering your price but always being too high anyhow as prices fall.
2. Advertise consistently. You don’t know when the right buyer may be in town, so keep those newspaper ads running.
3. Tell agents about the house. You can sell on your own and still have help. Just let agents know that if they bring you a buyer at the right price you’ll pay a commission.
