My aluminum doumbek catches a lot of attention

Maybe I’m just an old man who has been playing hand drums for too long, or maybe I actually know what I’m talking about some of the time. It’s not uncommon for some of the younger drummers to come up to me and ask for some tips and instruction. And I’m more than happy to oblige. One of the instruments that seems to catch many of their eyes is my cast aluminum doumbek.
