The environment and car shipping.

Auto Shipping, auto transport, auto shippers

We humans are rapidly destroying the earth and its environment, I do my part to help this by driving a Prius. I have been doing some research and it seems like Portland, Oregon would be a excellent place for me to move to. Lots of like minded people. But, I inquire about the environmental impacts of auto shipping. Those big ten car carriers they use to transport cars seem to use a lot of gas that damages the air. In Portland my main source of transportation will of course be my bicycle. My auto will mostly be used to go food shopping and on short drives to Mt. Hood, the beach, Seattle and hiking trails. Right now I live in the very polluted city of Chicago, Illinois. By my calculations that is well over two thousand miles away from Portland, Oregon. Would it take less gas for me to drive my Prius to Portland rather than hiring an auto transport company to move it there?Portland, Oregon is surrounded by gorgeous nature. Apparently they have over eighty miles of rain forest trails right outside the city. The beach is only two or three hours away, making it simple for me to drive there and camp near the ocean. Portland has even recently started a city wide composting program that encourages people to produce less trash. Are there any environmentally friendly auto shippers available for hire? Is it achievable for a ten auto carrier to run on bio fuel? Thank you, kindly.
