Used Car Problem: Past Failed Emissions Tests
September 7th, 2008
I don’t mean to frighten you, but you may want to be cautious when buying your next used car. I know what you’re going to say, “I know what problems to look for.” It is true that a lot of major problems are easy to spot. Even tiny problems can be picked up by a trained eye, but there is one thing you might be forgetting.
Unless you run the vehicle’s vin number to get a report on its history, you may not be aware of failed emissions tests. Buying a car only to later learn that you will need to spend extra thousands of dollars repairing it to meet emissions standards is not the news you want to hear. Just keep that in mind when looking for your next car.
