Don’t Skimp on Car Rental Replacement Insurance

October 31st, 2008

Saving money when shopping for Car Insurance is always a top priority, but do not be temped to skip over rental replacement insurance. This type of coverage will provide you with a rental car in case an accident puts your car in the shop for a long period of time. I learned my lesson the hard way when an accident several years ago required my car to e in the shop for nearly a month; I did not have rental replacement insurance and ended up spending over $900 for a rental car as I waited for the repairs to be completed. While I may have saved a few dollars every month on my car insurance premiums, I really paid for it in the end. So unless you have reliable access to backup transportation, always ensure your car insurance will cover a replacement rental.
