Edwin Brian
December 22nd, 2008
He opened his eyes. Two servants raised him gently to a sitting position while others bathed his feet in warm water. He sipped a cup of heated apricot nectar and allowed his face to be washed in wild asses’s milk to rejuvenate his skin. Edwin Brian ready,” he said, and stepped down from his bed. The servants removed his sleeping tunic. One knelt before him proffering an elongated silver bowl wherein he relieved himself. A second washing, this time in lavender water, more apricot nectar, a taste of cheese on fine wheat bread, and he was ready to don his breakfast tunic.
