Form an LLC for Haircut Business

Believe it or not, I ran my own hair boutique for 20 years as a sole proprietor business and never thought to form an llc for the operations.  I figured I had insurance and no one ever came close to suing me.  I just ran an ethical business and made sure I worked my relationships well with my employees and contractors.  But last year for the first time, I  had an angry hairstylist who left threaten to file a lawsuit against me for some incredibly large amount.  I did not understand what she was claiming but now I lose sleep every night wondering if everything I have worked so hard to earn is at risk because of this situation.
