My dad and I decided to open a small sporting good store in our home town. It was going to be my first job, and I was so excited I would be working for my dad. He had been planning this store for a long time and, when I turned 16, he figured it was about time. So, I spent the whole summer helping him set it up. We had a pretty good building near downtown and a large selection planned. I put together the retail store fixtures and stocked shelves. Then I put ads in the local papers and on the internet advertising our grand opening. When we opened, it didn’t matter how many people came, though quite a few did. All that mattered was that we had done something together. I know the store will be a big success.
