Patents vs. Copyrights

February 14th, 2008

I do not doubt that you have heard of both Copyrights and Patents; however, you might not know what the difference between how to get a patent them is. That’s pretty simple: you receive a Patent on an item that goes to the market; while a Copyright actually goes with both Artwork and Literature.

Is it easier to get one over the other? I would not really know; I have never had anything Patented or Copyrighted. There’s a wealth of information online that will help answer that question. The United States Patent and Trademark Office have those answers for inventors.
