You can obtain a free copy of your credit report

The first step in credit repair is to order your credit report. You can obtain one free copy from all three national credit reporting bureaus (Experian, Trans Union, Equifax) per year, depending on the state that you live in. If you have been recently denied credit, you may also receive a free copy of your credit report, even if you live in a state that would normally require a fee. Knowledge is a powerful tool, and most people do not take advantage of opportunities such as this simply because they are not aware that this is an option for them
