Toe walking

October 17th, 2009

Toe walking is a problem of great concern to parents, but most cases are usually very benign and should not be of concern. Most cases of kids that walking on their toes are just because the child is shorter and they want to be taller. If they can easily get the heel to the ground, then there is absolutely nothing to be concerned about. If they can ot get the heel to the ground, then this needs further investigation. The causes of toe walking vary from a neurological problem such as cerebral palsy to soft tissue problems such as a tight calf muscle.
