What Acne Medications Do You Use?
January 16th, 2008
Generally when acne first appears most people go to the local drug store looking for acne medications. One of the many things they’ll find is over-the-counter topical medicines which are applied to the skin. These preparations must be used exactly as directed as they can over-dry the skin which in turn can cause more oil production. If there is no improvement within two weeks perhaps stronger acne medicines are needed. At that time a visit to an internist or dermatologist may be called for. Low dose antibiotics are often given, with good success. These antibiotics may be used in conjunction with prescriptions washes or creams to be applied to the skin. With proper treatment acne can be cleared relatively quickly.
