What Is A Blood Pressure Reading Chart?

July 14th, 2008

A classical blood pressure chart is simply a pictorial representation of a range of blood pressure readings which fall both above and below the normal band of readings and also includes advice on just what the various pressure bands tell you about your blood pressure. For instance, if you take a blood pressure reading which shows a high systolic reading of 136 and a lower diastolic reading of 87 this will not mean a great deal to most of us. However, if you then draw a line on a blood pressure reading chart between the higher systolic reading shown on the left-hand side of the chart and the lower diastolic reading shown on the right-hand side of the chart you will discover that this line falls into a band which is slightly above normal and approaching high blood pressure but, nonetheless, still within an acceptable range. With a growing number of people suffering from this silent killer today it is important that all of us monitor our blood pressure regularly and use a blood pressure chart to interpret our readings.
