The greatest rate of blood exchange takes place daily in the eye so the link between high blood pressure and age related macular degeneration is a subject of on going research. High blood pressure has been called the silent killer because it destroys on so many levels with many symptoms. So controlling your blood pressure and knowing you numbers can be important in the treatments for macular degeneration.
