Are there common dog health issues an owner should be aware of?

My wife and I are new to owning our Golden Retriever. We are both curious about whether or not there are any dog health issues associated with Golden’s that we should be aware of. Or other things that we should know associated with owning a big dog such a dog nutrition or dog treatments. We both want nothing but the best for Rocky and want to make sure we love and care for him the way he needs to be. I would hate to find out years after the fact that if we had only cared for him differently he would have lived a longer life.
