Visitors can take an elevator to the lofty heights of the Empire State Building. New York is a paradise for art lovers, with many fine galleries. Make sure to visit the rooftop sculpture garden, which offers a bar and great views.  In summer rowboats can be rented at Loeb Boathouse. You can also pick up a lunch date with Its Just Lunch New York City . Finally, New York has seemingly endless choices for the ardent shopper. Those looking for a funkier, downtown shopping experience should check out Soho, Greenwich Village.
