After death who is the personal representative?
August 2nd, 2008
To know who is the personal representative after someone dies it not as simple as it might seem. When a person writes a will they name a executor through the probate process (the process of proving the validity of the will) the executor becomes the personal representative. The personal representative title is bestowed on the person by the probate court. Probate laws and procedures are very complicated so it is a good idea for the personal representative to seek the advice of a qualified estate planning lawyer or experienced probate attorney. When I was a personal representative I found a great attorney at the web sites estate settlement.com
